I cannot quite pin-point why, but recently I have been completely obsessed with blushes. I have always tended to steer clear of blush as I am quite the pale person and I always feel that blush can wash me out a little and anything to bright just clashes with my ginger hair! However, on saying this I do have quite the collection of blushes, and have recently been wearing them constantly, so I thought I would share with you my favourite five from my collection. These are all shades that I am quite comfortable wearing on an everyday basis, and shades that I would recommend if you like me, are slightly pale and find blushes difficult to wear.
Sleek Blush in 'Flamingo'
By far the brightest shade in my collection and not one that I actually bought for myself. I received this in my Glossybox a few months ago and was quite disappointed as I took one look at the illuminous pink shade and knew that I wouldnt wear it. On saying that, I gave it a trial run and absolutely love it. It is very bright, and so I only use a tiny amount and it gives quite a bright colour to the cheeks. This is the blush I tend to wear more on nights out, when I want something slightly more pronounced. It is also relatively shimmery and so does create quite a nice glow to the cheeks too. The quality of it is incredible, and for a 'drugstore' brand I really cannot fault it.
MAC Sheertone Blush in 'Blushbaby'
Blushbaby is quite an underrated blush shade by MAC. It is one that I hear very little about on the blogging and youtube scene, and I personally cannot understand why it is not more popular. It is a gorgeous natural shade, and potentially my most worn blush of all time. It is unbelievably natural and looks so subtle on the cheeks. It has an almost lilac undertone, which suits those with cool skintones. It has a light shimmer to it, but nothing detectable, which suits me as I have quite oily skin and find that shimmery blushes do nothing for me.
Soap& Glory Blush in 'Peach Party'
Peach Party is quite a unique shade, although it has peach in the name I don't see any peach in the shade. As you can see from the swatches, its more golden and packed with highlighting shimmer. I loved this blush throughout the summer as it gives a healthy glow to the skin, however because it is so shimmery, a little goes a long way and too much can look quite ridiculous.
NARS Blush in 'Dolce Vita'
Again, another shade from a popular cosmetics brand that I hear very little about. Dolce Vita is very similar to MAC's Blushbaby in the way that it is very natural and subtle with blue undertones, suitable for the cooler skin tones. It is slightly more shimmery and pigmented however, which do make it slightly more detectable than Blushbaby, however for pale skin this is a really beautiful shade.
VIVO Baked Blush in 'Peaches & Cream'
I cannot even express how incredible this blush is. Its as cheap and chips and I can quite easily compare it amongst my high-end blushes. It is highly pigmented, meaning that a little goes a very long way. It is also very shimmery and due to the peachy tones it looks incredible on pale skin and also skin with more of a tan.
What are your favourite blushes? Do you own any of these?
