Recently, my posts have admittingly been rather poor. I am desparate to make it up to all you beautiful followers, by trying to post some quality posts, or what I think to be quality anyway. So, today I shall be reviewing two blushers I picked up from Boots, yesterday.
Whilst in Boots, I picked up the 17 blusher in China Pink and the Natural Collection Blusher in Sweet Cheeks. I had read many positive reviews on the Natural Collection blusher and as it was only £1.99, I didnt see any harm in 'investing'. The 17 blusher I decided to buy after borrowing my sisters, I loved it and thought it was a really good blush, again it was very cheap and cost about £3.49.
Sadly, before I even got the Natural Collections blusher out of my bag, the pan had fallen out of the pot. If this had been an expensive product, I would have asked for a refund, however, it cost me very little and I couldnt see the point in taking it back. Im sure many other people would have done.
Both Blush's look quite similar on a first glance, yet, they're two completly different types. Firstly, the 17 blush contains sparkles and is rather shimmery whereas the Natural Collection's blush is a matte powder. The 17 blush is also very 'barbie' pink, in the respect that it is a rather more 'in your face'. I haven't described that very well at all. Whereas, the Natural Collections is more of an 'English Rose' colour, a natural rosy colour.
Upon the skin, the 17 blusher (who's packaging looks very similar to MAC) is very shimmery and gives a rather 'fake' looking blush to the skin, in my opinion, compared to the Natural Collections blusher which enhances the skin's natural rosiness and looks very natural and subtle. I have to say on swatches the Natural collection blush looks very peachy whereas the 17 applies just as it looks, (yet with more shimmer).
| top: 17 Bottom: Natural Collection |
So, if you're looking for an affordable blush, which is rather shimmery and 'barbie' pink, I would reccomend the 17 blusher, in China Pink. Whereas, if you're looking for a very natural and subtle blusher which enhances the natural skintone, then I would completly reccomend the Natural Collection blush in Sweet Cheeks.
Both Blushers come in many more shades, so just click on the links above to view the colour charts.

I have the Natural collection blusher as my every day work blusher and I agree with your comments that it is very natural and minimal in appearance, sometimes I think its too natural looking. I go between that one and a more reddy one by Sleek. Great review though!
ReplyDeleteI love the natural collection! It's such a bargain and I think they're really good quality products for the price! And they have a lovely collection of eyeshadows and eyeshadow duos!
ReplyDeleteGreat post :) xx
ReplyDeleteThese look lovely! Wish we had these brands in the states! I love anything described as 'English Rose.' I recently did a makeup swap with a lovely blogger in England and she sent me a 17 Blush & Glow in Strawberry Swirl (a blusher and highlighter.) Very pretty too! Have you tried any cream blushes? xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad I read this - I had been eyeing up that 17 China Pink because I wanted a blue toned matte "china doll" pink - I'd actually just written about this on my blog a couple of days ago! But now you have pointed out it has shimmer in it, I know it is not the kind of thing I am after. So thank you for this post - genuinely very very useful for me! xx
ReplyDeleteLove Natural Collection blushes! Peach Melba is to die forrrrr.

That's a shame about the pan coming out from the package!! Otherwise, they look very pretty. xx
ReplyDeleteNice blusher comparison - I need to invest in new make up, but being a cash-strapped student and all I have to do it CHEAPLY, so this post has really helped!
